So it’s now May 2020, meaning we are pretty much all in the house due to the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic. Personally I have been given the option to work from home which means my work wardrobe has drastically changed. Where I usually have to wear business/ business casual my wardrobe is now VERY casual. Usually you will find me in some sort of t-shirt and jogger combination.
Love Notions Game Day Jersey came in right on time to increase the me made casual options in my wardrobe. This has a front and back yoke and comes with a vneck or crew neck option. For mine I decided to use a kente print double brushed poly for my yoke and a purple knit sweatshirting I got from Joann’s for the body of my shirt. The pattern calls for the added detail of two stripes on the sleeves that I used more of the kente print to tie in what was going on in other spots on the shirt.
This made up super quick! and was actually fun to do. I don’t have a lot of experience sewing with knits but I love the outcome especially the neck band that was super simple to do and gave it a smooth finish. I made this in a size XL based on the finished measurements but probably could have gone down to a large as its a bit looser than I normally would wear but it is so comfortable and I can see myself making more of these.
Its good to have a few casual tops I can throw on in my closet and I hope to make some more as being at home might look like part of the new normal.
